AI is changing how products are designed and built. Ideas that once took days to explore can now take minutes, but faster execution doesn’t necessarily lead to better outcomes. The real challenge is knowing which ideas are worth pursuing, whose needs they serve, and what impact they will have over time.

These questions are increasingly important as AI reshapes both design and the way businesses operate. Blazeup, an AI platform for business operations and the Platinum Sponsor of Designathon 2026 – Global Edition, supports the event’s focus on thoughtful, purposeful design in an AI-driven world. As part of the event, Lollypop Design Studio is hosting Sustainable Design at Scale, a free webinar bringing together design experts to discuss the decisions, trade-offs, and responsibilities involved in creating products that deliver lasting value.

After studying engineering at IIT Madras, he transitioned into product design. He has since delivered more than 150 talks and workshops, including three TEDx talks.

At the webinar, Saptarshi will share practical lessons from product development, exploring how design decisions affect users and influence the way products are built and operated.

3. Ameet Palkar – Design Director at Lollypop Design Studio

Ameet Palkar

With more than 20 years of experience, Ameet Palkar has worked on products and experiences across multiple industries, including digital products, education, and gaming. His background in behavioral psychology complements his experience in learning and development, UX research, digital interface design, and cross-disciplinary collaboration.

At the webinar, Ameet will explore how to put responsible design into practice, from identifying the right problems to choosing appropriate solutions and building stakeholder support for design decisions.

The discussion will be moderated by Shelta Phung, Associate Director of Marketing & Account Management at Lollypop Design Studio. By connecting the speakers’ perspectives and raising key questions, Shelta will guide the conversation through real-world challenges designers face, including competing priorities and the need to justify design decisions to stakeholders.

Bringing sustainable thinking into product design

Sustainable design is about more than creating an intuitive interface or delivering a product that meets its requirements. Throughout the development process, designers must often balance competing priorities. A feature may increase conversion rates while making the experience more complicated. A solution that meets immediate needs may become difficult to maintain as a product grows.

These situations require more than execution skills. Designers need to ask the right questions, evaluate potential consequences, and explain the reasoning behind their decisions. This ability becomes increasingly important as AI shortens the time needed to generate design options, making critical evaluation and informed decision-making essential parts of design expertise.

Through the speakers’ diverse perspectives, the webinar will explore how designers can identify trade-offs, consider long-term consequences, and make decisions that align with a product’s broader goals and context.

Beyond the webinar: Designathon 2026 – Global Edition

Beyond the webinar

The webinar is part of Designathon 2026 – Global Edition, a 24-hour UI/UX design challenge organized by Lollypop Design Studio in Ho Chi Minh City on November 14–15, 2026. This year’s edition expands its reach internationally, bringing together designers from Vietnam and around the world to tackle a shared design challenge and exchange perspectives on the industry.

Under the theme Where Everything Aligns, Designathon 2026 encourages designers to look beyond immediate requirements and develop solutions that address real needs while creating lasting value.

As AI speeds up the design process, the challenge is no longer just about delivering a product within a limited timeframe. Designers must also identify the right problems, choose appropriate approaches, and explain the reasoning behind their decisions.

Through the webinar and the competition, Lollypop aims to bring the design community together across geographical boundaries, creating opportunities to exchange experience and learn from different perspectives. Both activities invite designers to reflect on their role in shaping products that serve people and create lasting value.
